This introduction to Richard Rose's (2012) Therapeutic Life Story Work (TLSW) model of trauma recovery and healing (TLSW) will support professionals' understanding of the importance of a child knowing their story and how to engage in this process safely when working alongside traumatised children, young people and their families from both individual and community perspective. Attendees will explore the theoretical and evidence base behind using TLSW and how it supports best practice.
On a practical level, the training will explore the TLSW model and its implementation within an Australian context. Multiple practice examples and intervention tools will be shared to support professionals to develop or enhance their skills to think and engage therapeutically. Attendees will be encouraged to explore and add to their therapeutic tool kit throughout the training.
Who should attend: professionals and carers working with children and young people in OOHC
