Yola Szybiak has over 15 years' experience of working in the Community Services sector. As a front line Child Protection Case Worker with the Department of Family and Community Services, she has worked directly with vulnerable children and families in crisis. Since 2008 Yola has worked with Life without Barriers in case management roles with children and young people in both generalist and intake teams. In 2015 Yola undertook a secondment with ACWA and Fostering NSW where she shared her practice experience across a number of projects including the development of carer support training, supporting joint agency recruitment events and system improvements for responding to fostering and adoption enquiries.

Since 2013 in her substantive position at Life without Barriers Yola has been involved with the development of a new team focused solely on foster carer recruitment, assessment and training where she currently utilises her knowledge and expertise as an assessor and trainer of new foster carers.
