Mirna Tarabay is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and an Accredited Supervisor with thePsychotherapists and Counsellor’s Federation of Australia. She is also an Accredited Griefline Counsellor and provides Learning and Development Services to both the Community and Government sector.
Mirna specialises in working with survivors of complex trauma, domestic violence, addiction
and dependency issues, loss and grief and mental health. Mirna’s work experience in this area includes employment in domestic violence refuges, migrant and refugee peak organisations and the Domestic Violence Helpline.
Mirna has a practice in Sydney where she provides therapeutic and supervision services,
including providing supervision services to counsellors, case workers working in the
homelessness, mental health and child protection fields as well as Early Learning Centre
Directors. She also provides support and clinical consultancy to families where the children are in the Out of Home Care System.
Mirna’s experience in conducting professional development programs spans over two decades. She holds a Bachelor of Education, Post Grad Diploma in Counselling and Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE). Her training experience includes employment as a Training and Development Coordinator at the Centre for Community Welfare Training, providing Counsellor education to students at the College of Applied Psychology and working as a training facilitator at the Blue Knot Foundation. Mirna has developed and delivered training programs extensively including programs for Homelessness New South Wales, Women’s Domestic Violence Court Assistance Scheme and New South Wales Health.
Mirna is committed to working in a manner that is inclusive and trauma informed in both the providing of therapeutic and educational services.
