Karen Akehurst is Senior Project Officer for South Coast Family Law Pathways Network (AGD), a former Youth Justice Conference Convenor (Juvenile Justice) and Project Officer- Criminal Justice Support Network (Intellectual Disability Rights Service).

She is highly experienced in front line courtroom, police (arrest) and legal aid client support. Karen has worked closely with the DPP, preparing victims for hearings and has provided training to: CJSN volunteer support workers, police, local court registrars, disability staff, group homes and disability employment providers.

She is also a published writer and legal / ‘Plain English’ translator.
