After 15 years as a psychologist, clinical supervisor and operations manager in a range of clinical and human services, Mark has opened a psychology practice in Wollongong offering psychological therapy, clinical supervision, coaching and training.
From 2008 to 2016 he worked at Ageing, Disability and Homecare (ADHC) providing services to a range of clients with intellectual disabilities, their families and their support networks. He has provided specialist clinical services to people in contact with the justice system and to people with a background of complex trauma.
Mark has extensive experience providing coaching and training to support teams to help them provide integrated, collaborative and trauma-informed support.
Mark has been a Motivational Interviewing (MI) trainer since 2012 and has coached a range of government and NGO staff to build MI skills and spirit into their approach. He specialises in the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) to help people take positive action that is driven by their values.
Mark also delivers mindfulness courses within organisations and to the community. He designed and delivers a mindfulness-based course called ACT at Work that helps staff and leaders enhance their psychological flexibility and emotional intelligence.
In the community, Mark teaches the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course as a way to help people cope with the hectic demands of life, stay present in their relationships and to be less reactive in times of stress.
