Mary Carroll

Mary Carroll is a Sydney based educator and holistic practitioner. Her experience and knowledge in community and health education spans community development, Aboriginal education, domestic, family and community safety, and feminist projects in sex worker safety (SWOP).
Mary has held senior roles across NGO’s, NFP, and national roles in government, and has lectured in Social Sciences in a number of Sydney based universities. Most recently she was contracted to NSW Health in a position as an advisor on issues related to ‘lived experience’ in mental health.
Mary has strengths in resource development and facilitation, developing and delivering programs for diverse communities, where awareness and empathy are called on. Trauma Informed Practice and recovery focused care inform her work. She is currently developing Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training modules for professional development, and volunteers at a Women’s Recovery Centre in Sydney offering Trauma Informed Yoga and mindfullness to women and children.
She loves going out bush, traveling, practicing and teaching Yin Yoga ‘healing circles’ in Sydney, spending time with her adult children and rescue dog Tommy the Kelpie! ‘Dadirri’ a way of listening deeply to your surrounds informs her teaching and learning practice.
