Dominic Cudmore

Dominic Cudmore is a practicing lawyer with a special interest in issues related to the not for profit / education / community services sectors. He operates as a consultant in policy development and research, legal structures and governance and training on legal issues and misconduct investigations including reportable conduct and professional standards issues.
Dominic has worked across a broad spectrum of government and private sector organisations. Most recently Dominic worked as a senior lawyer in a well-known Sydney-based legal firm dedicated solely to the provision of advice to the Not-for-Profit sector.
In February 2014, Dominic established his own advisory and legal practices, Hart Advisory and Hart Legal, in order to develop his independent practice dedicated to serving the NGO sector in all aspects of operations. In his new role, Dominic collaborates with numerous other organisations and professionals advising the Not-for-Profit sector.
Dominic also recently accepted the responsibility for coordinating the Thomas More Academy of Law Pro Bono Program at the ACU North Sydney campus. Dominic’s role here is to ensure that all ACU law students are matched with an Not-for-Profit or government body for whom they can provide 80 hours per annum of pro bono legal services.
Dominic is also a director of two Not-for-Profit organisations: Currency House – a body founded by Katharine Brisbane AM to promote the discussion of Australian cultural policy, and JCA, an organisation established to engage young people and inspire them to connect with, and support, refugees and asylum seekers.
Dominic enjoys participating in many creative pursuits. He enjoys theatre, dance, architecture, and design. He also possesses a lively interest in cultures and languages, his lasted passion being to gain a better understanding of the tiny country of Slovenia in central Europe.
