Resume
My specialisation in the areas of intentional self-care, vicarious trauma and compassionfatigue has developed over my 25-year career in the for-purpose sector. Over the course of
my career, I have supported many different people across the sector including homeless
youth, people seeking asylum, and children at risk of significant harm. My roles have
included both frontline and management positions, and the focus of my current role is
organisational well-being. My 2008 Masters thesis was devoted to analysing policies and
procedures that lessen the effect of vicarious trauma. In addition to a Masters of Social
Science, I hold a Graduate Diploma of Applied Social Science along with Diplomas of
Counselling and Management. I have completed Advanced Clinical Training in
Contemporary Gestalt Therapy and am a Compassion Fatigue Educator with the Green
Cross Academy of Traumatology. The workshops which I have developed and which I
facilitate through CCWT focus on managing vicarious trauma and increasing the adoption of
intentional self-care. My passion for intentional self-care has led me to develop tools and
techniques to help front-line staff and managers deal with the impact of working in trauma
and to maintain the best version of themselves for the people they assist.
