My role as an L&D Professional in the community sector is to bring out the best in people in a learning environment, and in turn inspire them to bring out the best in others that they work with.
For the past 25 years, I have worked primarily in child protection, and the last 15 years in learning and development.
Every day of my L&D journey I have learnt and shared learning with individuals working towards ensuring a better future for children, families and communities. I have been afforded many opportunities to work with frontline staff in skills and relationship development, and with leaders in a management and leadership development space.
My commitment is to children, young people and their families. My passion is learning and development.
Knowing the parallels between a positive workplace culture and positive outcomes for the children, families and adults we work with, my aim is to inspire and support agencies to develop a healthy organisational culture, with successful, confident teams, in the hope that we can have stronger, more positive outcomes for the community we
are committed to.
I have developed and trained numerous programs for frontline staff, middle and senior managers. I also have a research background and qualifications in social science, primary school teaching and adult education and training.
I have worked with numerous staff, teams, managers and leaders across varying programs from skill development in child protection through to programs aimed at developing positive workplace culture, with a strong focus on emotional intelligence. I have both worked with families in a child protection space and have a solid history of
managing and leading teams, including in my own business of 30 staff in the private sector. I enjoy the challenge of bringing people together to achieve great things. I have worked with a range of organisations in the organisational development area, including the Department of Communities and Justice, and a number of non-government organisations such as Homelessness NSW. I use a range of methods when working with organisations including coaching, mentoring, team building days, supervision sessions, group and individual reflection, training and facilitation.
