Debbie has worked in the community services sector for over 25 years in a variety of roles including manager of large and small organisations, as a coordinator and team member. She has specialled in the mental health sector for approximately the last 16 years. She has been involved in numerous project work, including a 12-month project around hoarding and squalor and the systemic service gaps across SWS. This is where her passion for supporting people living in extremely cluttered environments was born. She is a passionate advocate for people with mental health and has her own lived experience and a lived experience of hoarding.
She is the Director of Inside Out Recovery, a specialist intervention service for people living in cluttered environments which she started in 2016. She is also a trainer and counsellor, specialising in Hoarding Disorder, anxiety, depression, relationships and trauma. Last October, she was nominated and won the Most Outstanding Addiction Behaviour Counsellor in Australia for 2022 and then was privileged to travel to London in November for the nomination of Most Outstanding Addiction Behaviour Counsellor in the World for 2022, which she won.
